Strawberry Season
This isn’t a recipe whatsoever. It’s hedonism.
When the strawberries arrive, I close the cookbooks and walk away from the stove. A great strawberry needs next to no encouragement, and aside from dragging them through a bowl of gently whipped cream, I kind of hate to muddle them up.
Here's a nice thing to do for yourself: Take a handful of ripe strawberries and slice them in half. Stir a big spoonful of maple syrup into a bowl of greek yogurt or crème fraîche. Arrange strawberries on top, then drizzle with more maple syrup, the best olive oil in your house (the grassier the better), and a heft sprinkle of flaky sea sat. (I use Maldon. Always.) Heaven.
